In any case, add in something about the USSR dissolving, the Berlin Wall coming down, the scandal with Clinton, 9/11, Intifadas in Israel, the Iraq Wars (current and gulf wars), Saddam Hussein, Osama, al-Qaeda, Princess Di dies, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter making JK one of the world's richest women, MJ dying, MJ's sleeping with boys, Michael Phelp's record golds, Obama, Ted Kennedy dying, steroole miss poemid scandals in baseball, the 2003 Superbowl, Hurricane Katrina, the Da Vinci Code, Twilight screwing the mind of America's teenage female population, Sarah Palin, Haiti's earthquake, etc.
Just look at what he considered important, and find similar things. Or, go onto Wikipedia's page for a certain year and find something, it isn't hard to come up with examples.
