ok so i just got an i pod touch and i don't know how to put music on it.the directions dont really explain, and i am only looking for free music.i cant figure it out.thanks for helping.
First, you'll need to download iTunes, which is free. iTunes is necessary for managing the music you put on your iTouch.
There are two ways to get music onto iTunes:
1. If you have any CD's all you do is open iTunes and put the CD in the computer. iTunes should automatically bring up the CD, but if not, the CD should be under the devices column on the left side. If you click on it a box should come up asking if you want to burn the disc to your library. Click ok and the iTunes should begin copying it and adding it music downloads for ipod touchto your music library.
2. When you first download iTunes any music you have on your computer should be automatically added to your library, however, if it does not, or you add more music later, here's how to add it to iTunes. Open itunes and go to File in the upper left corner. Go down to "Add file to Library...". Once this is clicked your music folder should pop up and you can add all the music files you want by holding control while you click them all. If you have a large folder of music you can also click "Add folder to Library...". This puts all the music in that folder in your library instead of you having to hold down control and clicking on each individual file.
Once you hmusic downloads for ipod touchave music in your library, the easiest way to add music to it, I've found, is to create a playlist with all the music you want to put on the iPod and just click and drag the playlist icon on the left hand side to your ipod's icon under devices. This automatically syncs that music with your ipod. Just make sure that you don't close iTunes or slide the bar on your iTouch's screen while it is syncing. This cancels the sync. If you don't want to go through the process of making a playlist you can just slide the music icon at the top of the left bar to your iTouch's icon instead.
Hope this helps and feel free to ask if you have any more questions! :)
